This is a challenging hike because of the distance and amount of climbing.
400 -- 1400 Yes Dogs are allowed on leash. A number of picnic tables are scattered throughout the park adjacent to the trails and horse water troughs are available in a few locations. There are also remnants of mining structures throughout the park.

Getting There

  • There are three main trailheads and one entrance without a parking area. Starting from Highway 85:
    • Mockingbird Hill entrance: Find your way to the junction of Highway 85 and Almaden Expressway in San Jose. Take Almaden Expressway south to Almaden Road. Turn right on Mockingbird Hill Lane.
    • Wood Road entrance: Find your way to the junction of Highway 85 and Camden Avenue in San Jose. Take the Camden Avenue exit south. Turn right on Hicks Road and follow for 6 miles. At the intersection of Wood Road and Hicks Road, turn left.
    • Hacienda entrance: Find your way to the junction of Highway 85 and Almaden Expressway in San Jose. Take Almaden Expressway to Almaden Road and continue on to the parking area.
    • Web Canyon entrance: Find your way to the junction of Highway 85 and Almaden Expressway in San Jose. Take Almaden Expressway South; turn right on Trinadad Avenue. Follow Trinidad and turn left on Elwood Drive. Continue on Elwood and turn right on Echo Valley Drive. The trailhead is located at the junction of Echo Valley Drive and Web Canyon Drive.
