Featured Trail Introduction: This hike goes to Deer Hollow Farm and then returns by another trail. Children who can walk three-miles will enjoy the hike. A shorter hike is possible by returning by the same trail instead of proceeding with the the loop.
Featured Trail: Follow trail marked in "Red" starting at Note 1.
Important Trail Notes
Note 1: Trailhead: Permanente Trail -sandy surface- is located at the north end of the north parking area. There is also a bike trail that parallels Permanente.
Note 2: Tennis courts mark the spot where Permanente Trail swings to the left (west). At this point the park service has a map mounted for everyone's use. There are three trails and it can be confusing. Follow either the paved road or the dirt trail -both trails head to the same place.
Note 3: A small wooden bridge -near the paved road- will be found to the right of the road. This bridge connects with a dirt trail; but, both the road and trail lead to the Deer Hollow Farm.
Note 4: Deer Hollow Farm is a great place for everyone to spend some time. Unfortunately the farm is usually closed on weekends.Immediately after the animal corals is a large historic barn where people often stop for a snack.
Note 5: Immediately after the barn turn left (south) and follow the trail to Coyote Trail. Follow Coyote Trail back to the paved road used earlier to get back to the parking lot.

There are several parking lots, including one designated for equestrian trailers. The trailhead for the preserve is located adjacent to the 85-car parking area in the northwest lot.
Parking can be a challenge: However, there are three parking areas with many parking stalls. Note: There are trails between all the parking lots
The north parking area is the closest to Deer Hollow Farm.
