The trail varies little until you leave The Baylands. The Featured trail takes you onto surface streets for a very short while. Then you connect back to the trail at Shoreline.

Featured Trail Introduction: This loop trail is for kids or adults interested in a short fun hike. The trail is a combination of pavement and compact dirt; it is suitable for baby-strollers, skates and the casual bicyclist. The nature walk, has a sign system that explains what you are seeing. The return leg of the loop takes you to Shoreline Lake. The map notes below follow the arrows shown on the map.
Featured Trail: Follow trail marked in "Red" starting at Note 1.
Important Trail Notes
Note 1: Find your way to Shoreline using the Google Map. Use the + and - on the Google map to change the coverage area or drag the map to a new region. Shoreline Regional Wildlife and Recreation Area is located on Shoreline Blvd North in Mountain View. Follow Shoreline Blvd North for about three-miles to the park.
Shoreline Main Parking: Go North on Shoreline Blvd. Entering Shoreline there is an unoccupied Entrance Kiosk and drive about 1-mile to the main parking area next to Shoreline Lake.
Dogs and Equestrian: Not Allowed. Children: This Featurd Trail is highly recommended for children of all ages. Strollers: This trail is fine for rugged type strollers. Toilets: Flushing toilets are available near the main parking area.
Note 2: With you back to Shoreline Blvd head south -across the large pressed-gravel parking lot- to the sign: "Shoreline Marsh Lands Trail.". Follow the main trail. Do not cross over the bridge crossing the creek
Note 3: After you pass the end of the lake, follow the trail heading back to the lake side trail.
Note 4: Children enjoy the small boat-park to play on and watching the many geese that frequent the lake.

Drive past the (unused) entrance kiosk and follow the signs to either of three parking areas.
The first parking is 'Kite Flying Area', which is immediately following the entrance. The next parking area is the Golf Course and Michael's restaurant parking. The Main Parking area, is located at the end of the road.
Lakeside Cafe and Shoreline Sailing and Boathouse is located next to the Main Parking area.
